Our Mission

  • Idaho’s schools are strong, but we must constantly improve our schools to better prepare our children for the modern economy and help Idaho attract high-quality jobs.
  • Idaho Parents and Teachers Together is asking Idahoans to generate ideas on how we can make our public schools even better.
  • We’ll advocate for these ideas through a report to school administrators, elected officials, and citizens in early 2012 as well as through media outreach and organizing.

Think of the groups in which you are involved … PTA/PTOs, community service groups (Rotary, Kiwanis), National Honor Society, Student Council, workplaces, book clubs, church groups, neighborhood associations …

Don’t add another meeting to your calendar! Instead, pick a meeting that your group already has planned. Discuss these four questions about Idaho’s schools, and report your ideas using this feedback form.

  1. From what you have seen and experienced, what are the greatest challenges facing Idaho’s schools?
  2. What could Idaho do through state law, policy, or budget priorities to help more students succeed?
  3. What could Idahoans do outside the legislative process to help students succeed? (Think about local school district policy, parent and community involvement, business partnerships, and other ideas that don’t need to become law.)
  4. What can professional educators – including teachers, administrators, and support personnel – do to help students succeed?

No time for a meeting? Take this quick survey and ask your family, friends, and colleagues to do so.
